See I work in a coffee shop & it just upsets me that OUR chain of stores (we have about 6 in the neighborhood I’m in), throw out food by daylight. Does this concern you? I bet if you find yourself starving & you came into our shop & begged for food, I’m pretty sure it would. The first time I ever threw out donuts, bagels, muffins, tea biscuits & pastries, I felt like there are a lot of people out there who will kill to eat (that’s figurative I’m sorry) but having to get rid of them & not being able to do anything, I mean anything about it just made me sick. We could have put them on sale, or even donated them to the food bank of Canada or something, but throw ‘em out? Just so wrong.
