There is something beautifully sad about John Mayer’s video for Shadow Days. It’s a brilliantly shot video, but he seems so lonely, so isolated. Yes, that echoes the record, but is the record not an extension of his heart and head anyway? He talks about how his shadow days are over, but I’m convinced they’re not. I don’t know if it’s his granuloma, or that he’s onto his fifth record, or maybe a combination of them both. But certainly, there’s something forlorn about JM roundabout now. Gone is the confident, care-free, gutsy John, in his place someone much more vulnerable. Nonetheless, I really enjoy the direction in which is music is going, and look forward to the new album next month.
Elise sings “I Want To Know What Love Is” on American Idol top 8: Songs from the 1980’s. I FRIGGIN LOVE THIS. I’m already sure she’s gonna get bashed for it. America vote for her! Jessica & Phillip need competition, and she is the one!
I managed to only post about 3-4 SOTDs this month. Boo me. Anyway, we get to have a February 29 this year! Leap year woot woot. This was from the trailer of that movie, “Leap Year” so it has a connection with that. And oh wait, I love this song too!
“So I remember we were driving in your car, speed so fast I felt like I was drunk, city lights lay out before us, and your arm felt nice wrapped around my shoulder, and I had the feeling that I belonged, and I had a feeling I could be someone.” Fast car
“Oh half of my heart’s got a grip on the situation, half of my heart’s says it’s time. All of my heart’s got a right mind to tell you what half of my heart won’t do”
