If I was on a heartbreak roll I would have cried, but I wasn’t so I didn’t. However, may I just say that whatever this guy does, IT’S JUST MAGIC. I loved this cover.

Why Adele is so good. On Thursday I chose to play ‘Rolling in the Deep’ by Adele. I picked this song because Adele has a quality that I believe has been lost in Top 40 music: raw emotion. Every time I hear an Adele song for the first time, I am immediately drawn in because I know that her songs come from a real place. She sings from her gut about real emotion. This song has intense sorrow, angst, and despair. It comes through in the lyrics and the tone of her voice.
I picked this song out of reverence for an artist who I feel like is paving a path in Top 40 that begs listeners to feel a song. I, too, desire to ask for the same response from my upcoming record.
